ग्रामीण भागात ज्ञानाचा दीप प्रज्वलित करून सामाजिक परिवर्तन घडविण्याची ध्यासपूर्ण वाटचाल म्हणजे 'साधना'. सन १९७५ मध्ये सुरू झालेल्या आबासाहेब काकडे कनिष्ठ महाविद्यालयाच्या स्थापनेपासून आजपर्यंतच्या संघर्ष, त्याग, मूल्यनिष्ठा आणि यशाची ही प्रेरणादायी गाथा आहे. कर्मयोगी आबासाहेब काकडे आणि स्वर्गीय निर्मलाताई काकडे यांच्या स्वप्नातून उभी राहिलेली ही संस्था हजारो विद्यार्थ्यांचे आयुष्य घडविण्याचे कार्य सातत्याने करीत आहे. शिक्षण, संस्कार, समाजभान आणि राष्ट्रनिर्मिती यांचा संगम असलेले हे पुस्तक म्हणजे एका शैक्षणिक तपस्येचा जिवंत दस्तऐवज आहे.
