Day and night, Mahipati immersed himself in the reading and contemplation of the abhangs of Saint Tukaram Maharaj and Saint Namdev. As he absorbed these immortal teachings, a profound inspiration awakened within his soul. Saint Namdev had composed countless verses, and Saint Tukaram had spread the radiance of bhakti, but how would the world ever come to know the true lives, the quiet struggles, and the divine triumphs of these great saints?
One night, a divine vision unfolded: Pandurang Himself, accompanied by Jagatguru Tukobaraya, appeared in Mahipati’s dream. Saint Tukaram lovingly placed his comforting hand of blessing upon Mahipati’s forehead and draped a sacred necklace of Tulsi beads around his neck. Tukobaraya commanded:
"The monumental task of completing Namdevray’s hundred-million abhangs was fulfilled through me; now, let the biographies of the saints be written through you."
Mahipati bowed low, resting his forehead at the feet of Tukoba. In that sacred moment, the ultimate purpose of his life was revealed. Awakening at dawn, he reached to touch his neck—and lo, the sacred Tulsi beads were truly there, resting against his skin.
A wave of humility washed over Mahipati’s heart. He thought to himself:
"To chronicle the lives of the saints is a task of immeasurable magnitude. How shall I ever accomplish it? Will I be equal to it? I possess neither literary brilliance, artistic mastery, nor profound scholarship."
With a trembling heart, he prayed to Pandurang:
"O Pandurang, you alone must make the stories of your devotees flow through my humble pen."
To this, the Lord replied:
"The hand of Tukoba rests upon your head. The divine command to chronicle the lives of my saints shall be fulfilled, for I shall dwell within your heart and guide your pen." With these words, Pandurang vanished from his sight.

Following this supreme vision and celestial blessing, Mahipati was truly transformed into a Maharaj—a spiritual monarch.
True love and devotion are not mere displays for the world; they are realms to be deeply experienced within. Mahipati Maharaj’s heart had long since detached itself from the hollow illusions of material wealth. Now, anchored in the living culture of the Warkaris and an unshakeable faith in the Divine, seeds of boundless love and devotion had taken root within his soul.
With reverence, he reached out and took up the very black-inked pen he had once laid before the deity. But this time, it would never trace the accounts of mortal masters; it moved solely to weave the sacred life stories of Maharashtra’s great saints into immortal ovisan!
